Happy New Year Everyone

Happy New Year Everyone

Yay it’s nearly new years eve, I love this time of year as I always have such high hopes of how much healthier I’ll be in the new year, how the house will be kept spotlessly clean and how I’ll be able to plan my work so I’m not up untill stupid-o-clock finishing jobs that customers want in a hurry.
The feeling never lasts for long, and have doubts it will do this year as I have graphics and photography work coming out of my ears, as well as a new office to move in to over the next few weeks … yes I’m finally moving in to an office in a complex called ‘The Creative Exchange’ so no more working from home for me.
I can’t wait to get out and see people, swap creative ideas and get some fresh inspiration as well as expand my business and offer some new services that I’m really excited about…….. I’ll tell you more over the next few weeks.

After spending Christmas husbandless I finally have him home again so I’m taking a few days off to chill before the mad panic of moving starts!.
Christmas was nice though, I had a whole day of not even thinking about work, on boxing day it all started again though as I’ve designed 2 posters for clients and added lots more new gifts and stationery to both of my online shops, I will finish this blog by showing some of them.

Please visit my Photography Gift Shop
or my Hippy Gift Shop to see lots more.

I hope you all have a fantastic New Year with very little hangovers!

Living in a disaster zone

I need more hours in the day, 24 just isn’t enough!!

I’m still decorating my house, everything’s still all over the place and i’m getting quite used to sitting next to the microwave oven that’s taken up residence on my sofa!
My office has just had the last coat of paint so at least i can start putting that back together and have a propper space to work in again, i’ve really been missing that!!
Then it’s time to tackle the kitchen, livingroom, then upstairs, i’ll be so glad when it’s all done!!

I’ve also been designing logos and DVD boxes for a client, designing a website for another client, and signs for yet another client, rearranging my Gift Shop and adding new designs to that ….. and still haven’t even looked at the photos i took last wednesday!!
I went on a photo shoot with one of my best friends, its great as she’s an amazing art nude model so glad i’m a photographer and can work with her! .. must get round to sorting through them all and uploading them to flikr, deviant art, and all the other stock librarys i use sometime!

I’ve been really surprised with the sales in my shop over the last few weeks too as i’ve sold loads of these cards, far more than any of my other designs so it looks like everyones in a summer mood, thank you to all of my customers that bought 1 .. or more than 1!!

I suppose i’d better get on with decorating again or it’ll never get done!! .. no rest for the wicked as they say!!

I’ve just created a website for my facebook page on www.wix.com

Latte Art

I’ve just watched this and need a coffee now!
Such beautiful art, and i bet it tasted good too!!

How to create kaleidoscope fractal art from your photos

People always ask me how I create my kaleidoscope fractal art so thought i’d put this tutorial together on my blog for all to see.

I create my kaleidoscopes in photoshop and start with at least one base picture (it’s good to choose a picture that has lots of colours, patterns or textures to get a really crazy psychedelic looking work of art.)
You then take a triangle shaped section of this picture, copy it, then rotate and flip it so it mirrors the first section, then keep copying and rotating the sections untill it fills up the canvas.
Watch this youtube video to see exactly how!

When you’ve made your first piece of fractal art you can then copy and paste it to repeat the pattern or create another kaleidoscope from another photo and combine these images to make something even more interesting.

You’ll find even more youtube tutorials and examples on my squidoo site here

www.squidoo.com/top-10-fractal-tutorials

Here’s a few examples of my kaleidoscope creations, they’re all available to buy in my shop along with lots of other designs.
I hope you enjoy making your own kaleidoscope art.
